PSG Won Super Cup after beated Aston Villa 2-1

Paris Saint Germain captured the 2026 UEFA Super Cup with a hard fought 2-1 victory over English side Aston Villa at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg, Austria. 

Entering the match as the reigning UEFA Champions League titleholders, Luis Enrique’s side showcased their depth and tactical resilience to secure back to back Super Cup triumphs, adding yet another prestigious piece of silverware to the club’s expanding modern cabinet.

The French giants started brightly and broke the deadlock in the 20th minute through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who cut in from the left flank and rifled a powerful strike past the goalkeeper. 

However, Aston Villa refused to back down. Just before the stroke of halftime, 17 year old debutant Brian Madjo made history by volleying home an equalizer, becoming the youngest goalscorer in the competition's history and punishing a lapse in the Parisian defense.

PSG regained control after the interval, maintaining high pressure until the breakthrough arrived in the 61st minute. Désiré Doué capitalized on a clever through ball from Ousmane Dembélé, beating the offside trap before slotting a composed, low angled finish into the far corner. 

Though a VAR review briefly checked the sequence, the goal was rightfully awarded, earning Doué the official Man of the Match honors and restoring PSG's crucial lead.

Aston Villa pushed hard for a late equalizer in the closing stages with Emiliano Buendia coming close via a header but Paris held firm through five minutes of stoppage time to seal the 2-1 victory. 

The triumph places PSG alongside an elite group of clubs to win consecutive Super Cup titles, setting an aggressive and confident tone for the 2026/27 campaign as they chase further domestic and international honors.
