Gonzalo García joins Fulham from Real Madrid

Fulham have completed a major coup in the summer transfer market by signing highly rated forward Gonzalo García from Real Madrid on a five year contract that runs until the summer of 2031.

The 22 year old Spanish talent joins the Cottagers for a fixed fee of €40 million, alongside an extra €2 million in performance related add ons.

As part of the agreement, Real Madrid has retained a 30% sell on clause and secured matching rights for any future bids, highlighting how highly the Spanish giants value his long term potential.

García rose through the prestigious ranks of La Fábrica after joining Real Madrid’s academy at the age of ten.

He caught widespread attention during a prolific spell with Real Madrid Castilla and notably claimed the Golden Boot at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Having already tasted success by winning La Liga and the UEFA Champions League during his time in Madrid, the versatile forward opted to make the switch to the Premier League in search of regular, high level first team minutes.

At Craven Cottage, García will reunite with Álvaro Arbeloa, under whom he previously thrived during his youth development years.

Fulham's hierarchy, including vice chairman Tony Khan, expressed immense excitement over securing a player capable of operating across the front line.

With his technical prowess, eye for goal, and international ambitions with Spain, García arrives in west London ready to make an immediate impact in English football.
